The pop-up piano page turns an Arduino into a capacitive sensor, which can sense the electrical capacitance of the human body.
Using 1 Arduino and 1 megaohm resistor for each of the keynotes, wires and copper foil, the sensors work as a human touch pressure sensors that activate the notes on the piano when the keys are pressed.
Please note that at the present moment the page is at a prototyping stage and two of the notes have been left out and are not working because when shot the video I had just 10 resistors at my disposal :)
The electronic pop-up piano will be embedded in a pop-up 'book' made with movable parts and other sensors. Further updated videos and pictures will be uploaded as it develops. The pop-up piano has been featured on gizmodo.com, creativeapplications.net, komando.com and on Discovery Channel's Weird Planet, segment of the show Daily Planet, on the 9th of May 2013.
