x,y,z Colour Space

– installation

x,y,z Colour Space has been designed so that the user can have a satisfactory experience even if time is limited, as requested in the project brief. The installation was developed during my MA Design for Interactive Media at MDX University in 2010/2011. The brief required students to create an 'object of delight'. For x, y, z, Colour Space people are invited to touch a feather and in so doing, alter and choose the colour being projected on the surrounding walls. A photocell connected to an Arduino, which is placed at the bottom of the feather, captures changes in light and causes the colours to fade. Stimulating the user’s haptic sense, the installation provides a colourful visual output through a pleasing and 'unusual' input modality.

x,y,z Colour Space has been exhibited at Kinetica Artfair 2012 at Ambika P3 in London, UK.
